Lodge and Chapter Bylaws

It is the policy of UGLE (and SGC) that Bylaws should follow the Model Bylaws issued from time to time by Grand Lodge (Rule 136). Bylaws which follow the Model Bylaws can be approved by the Provincial Grand Master (or Grand Superintendent) and need not be sent to for the Grand Master's (or First Grand Principal's) review.

It is expected that a majority of Lodges and Chapters are already using the model bylaws. If you are not sure you may refer to the documents below for further instruction.

Bylaw amendments must be approved in Open Lodge per the procedure defined in your own Bylaws (Bylaw 11 if using the Model Bylaws). The Amendment form must then be filled in and sent to the Provincial Office for review by the Provincial Grand Secretary and approval by the Provincial Grand Master.
